I’m so happy to be back on the site after a little break! I want to start with this amazing Strangozzi with white meat sauce recipe. It’s a keeper! And it’s super easy to make. For this recipe, we thought we’d try something different and use a pasta other than the classic tagliatelle. We opted for strangozzi, a lovely Umbrian type of pasta. I thought it would be a great idea to share this recipe now that winter is on its way! It’s the perfect dish for a cosy Sunday lunch or a family dinner. I used mixed mince in my version, but feel free to add one or two sausages if you want to give it a little extra oomph!

Ingredients

  • 500g strangozzi
  • 300g mixed mince
  • 9/10 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Onion, to taste
  • Carrot, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 glass of white wine
  • Rosemary

Let me tell you how to prepare it!

  1. The first thing you need to do is put the water for the pasta on to boil (you can cover it with a lid if you like, so it boils faster).
  2. Now, let’s take a frying pan and put in the oil. We’ll start by finely chopping the onion, then sautéing it over low heat until it’s well browned. After that, we’ll add the mince and the carrot, cut into small cubes (or however you like it best).
  3. We’ll sauté it for about 8 minutes, or until the meat is cooked.
  4. Now, all that’s left is to add the wine and let it evaporate over high heat until the smell fades. If you’d like to enrich the recipe, we can add one or two sausages.
  5. Now that the water for the pasta is boiling, let’s add the salt and throw in the pasta. Let it cook for about 5 minutes, just to make sure everything’s perfect. Once it’s cooked, drain it and mix the meat sauce with the pasta. Give it a good stir, and then it’s time to enjoy this wonderful dish!

Here are a few more tips to make your life easier!

You can add sausages and bacon to make the dish tastier and more flavourful. You can also add celery to the sauté.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe! If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
